David Bawden is Professor of Information Science at City University London, UK.
He has a first degree in organic chemistry (Liverpool University) and masters and doctoral degrees in information science (Sheffield University), and worked in research information services in the pharmaceutical industry, before joining City in 1990.
David’s academic interests include history and philosophy of the information sciences, information-related behaviour, knowledge organisation, scientific information, digital literacy and academic-practitioner research collaboration. He is editor of the Journal of Documentation, and has been involved with ASLIB training courses for many years.

Jacqueline Beattie is a graduate of Loughborough University and is an experienced information and knowledge management professional.
Her current role is Global Contracts Manager, Business Information Services for The Dow Chemical Company.
She has extensive experience in various sectors in leadership roles – from manufacturing to financial and professional services, and the public sector.
Graham Cornish is a professional librarian and worked for the British Library for 33 years where he was copyright law advisor and also managed a research programme for IFLA, focusing on document availability and supply.
His book Copyright: interpreting the law for libraries, archives and information services is in its 5th edition and considered a standard work He now operates his own copyright advice and training service under the brand name "©opyright Circle".
He was President of the Library Association in 2000.
Graham has run numerous workshops on copyright since 1984 and has taught on ASLIB courses for the last 15 years. His relationship with Emerald also goes back some 15 years through the journals Interlending & Document Supply and Library Management of which he was editor for several years.
Graham is also an ordained minister in the Anglican Church where he functions as a Minister in Secular Employment and chaplain to his local ASDA superstore in Harrogate.
Sue Henczel is a library consultant and trainer who has held management and operational positions in government, corporate, public and academic libraries in Australia.
Sue is involved in a range of activities locally and internationally for the information profession. She has held a number of SLA leadership roles including that of Convenor of the International Information Exchange Caucus. She was instrumental in establishing SLA’s Australia and New Zealand Chapter in 2005 and was its inaugural Chapter President. Sue served two terms as a member of the IFLA Standing Section Committee on Statistics and Evaluation and until 2011 was the Convenor of the Committee’s e-metrics special interest group. Sue is a member of the Emerald's Library Management Editorial Board and Book Review Editor.
Sue's interests are in the development of strategic measurement models, workforce planning, training and professional development (program development, delivery and evaluation) and the development of collaborative alliances. She has written extensively on knowledge management, information auditing, competencies, benchmarking, project management and performance measurement. Her book The Information Audit: A practical Guide was published in 2001.
Ceri Hughes is a Director at KPMG and Global Knowledge Business Leader in the firm’s Global Knowledge team. She is responsible for delivering core elements of KPMG’s Knowledge strategy and for leading the offshore knowledge programme.
Prior to joining the Global Knowledge team, Ceri was Head of Global Advisory Knowledge Management and Research team, spending nine years in the Advisory practice. Prior to joining KPMG, Ceri has previously been Global Head of Information and Records Management at FTSE 100 global telecommunications firm, and Information Manager at London-based magic circle law firm.
Ceri a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and a past Chair and life member of the Information & Records Management Society of Great Britain. She is also a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ASLIB Proceedings. She is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the YWCA Central Club of London.
Steve O'Connor is currently the University Librarian at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
He is also a Director of Information Exponentials a company specializing in future proofing libraries. He has extensive experience in managing organisations large and small, income-based as well as expenditure-based.
He has researched, published, presented, consulted and taught very extensively in the areas of change, organisational management, leadership, scenario planning, as well as on the future of the wider library and information environment. He has assisted libraries and consortia to explore new thinking and service delivery through scenario planning methodologies.
His current focus is on the creation of sustainable new business models for our future libraries. He is the Editor of the international peer reviewed journal Library Management as well as of a new journal Library Management China which is published in simplified Chinese.
He has recently published a book Image Your Library's Future (Chandos Publishing, 2010) which will be translated into Chinese in 2011. He has published over 50 journal articles and numerous conference presentations.
Charles Oppenheim BSc PhD DSc DipInfSc CertEd HonFCLIP FCLIP FRSA AUMIST was Professor of Information Science at Loughborough University between 1998 and 2009.
He was Head of the Department of Information Science between 2006 and 2009. In his past life, he has held a variety of posts in academia and the electronic publishing industry, working for International Thomson, Pergamon and Reuters at various times.
He has been involved in, and published widely on legal issues in the library and information profession, especially copyright, data protection and freedom of information. He has a particular interest in legal issues in cloud computing. His other interests include research evaluation, citation studies and bibliometrics, and open access, the electronic publishing industry, scholarly communication and the digital library. He is a consultant in all these fields.
Charles is a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the European Commission, and of the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance. He and Naomi Korn run the IPR consultancy service for the JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee).
Charles has published many books and book chapters, and more than 400 scholarly journal articles in the field of library and information management. He regularly speaks at library and information professional conferences and is on the editorial advisory board of journals in the field. Right now he is writing a book on legal issues associated with Web 2.0.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sharif Mohd Saad is with the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA.
He has served as Course Tutor (Head of Programme) and Coordinator for the Masters in Library Science programme. Currently he is the Deputy Dean, Research and Industrial Linkages.
His teaching and research areas of interest are; Library Management, School Resource Centre, Library Services for Children and Young Adult, Automation and Digitisation of Information Resources, Records Management, Research Methodology, Information literacy and Library Education.
He possesses a Certificate in Managerial Process and Practices from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, a Bachelor degree from UiTM, a Masters in Library Science from Syracuse University, New York and a Phd from University of Malaya.
Dr. Mohd Sharif has been involved in the organising of several national and international conferences. He co- chair the International workshop and Conference on Information Literacy in 2006. In 2008 he was the Chair for the Regional workshop: Training the Trainers in Information literacy for South East Asia region in collaboration with UNESCO and in 2011 he co-chair the IFLA International Newspaper conference.
A Life member of Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia (PPM), he has served in the capacity of council member, Vice President 2 and 1 and currently the President. Dr. Mohd Sharif has served on several National Committees; Malaysian Book Development Council, National Reading Campaign Council and a member of the Advisory Board of Director Melaka State Public Library. He is member of the CONSAL (Congress of South East Librarian) Executive Board and a standing committee member of the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) - Asia and Oceania Section.
Amanda Spink is currently a Professor at the Queensland University of Technology and the University of South Australia, and is an Academic Icon Professor at the University of Malaya.
She completed her PhD in Information Science at Rutgers University, has over 340 publications and 8 books. Professor Spink is a world expert in Library and Information Science and a leading international scholar in information behaviour with over 9,400 citations and an H-Index of 48. Amanda was named the leading influential Information Scientist of her generation* and in 2008 had the second highest H-index citation score in her scientific field.

Steve served in UK Ministry of Defence scientific research libraries for a third of a century, finally as the Technical Programme Coordinator of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory's Knowledge Services Department.
He is now "sort of" retired, and edits Emerald's Performance Measurement and Metrics journal, as well as sitting on the organising committees of several international conferences.
He had a long association with ASLIB, sitting on ASLIB Council for eight years in total, and another 22 years on ASLIB'S Electronics Group Committee.
